When I was 11 years old, I published a newspaper : “Amanda’s News: I tell the news.” (Total circulation: 2 — I’d type it all up, print it out, and slide it under my parents’ bedroom door.)

Amanda’s News was a mix of reported-out stories, service journalism in the form of gift guides, and even a game to satisfy my subscribers. (One might say this was incredible foreshadowing on what media would look like decades later. Others might say I had too much time on my hands.)

This Substack iteration of my news won’t be quite as hard-hitting. Rather, emails will be sporadic and include whatever I’m reading, writing, and listening to as it relates to the things I find interesting — politics, leadership, books, next-gen culture, New York Stuff, parenthood. If you follow me elsewhere on the internet and occasionally like what I post, you’ll probably like this stuff, too.

The goal is to keep this free, but if you want to support my work outside my work (by that I mean: after you’ve made a donation to Run for Something and bought a copy or two of my books), you can become a paid subscriber here. I don’t intend to put much if anything behind the paywall for now, so proceed with full transparency about what you’re getting.
