Mamdani ran with clarity, offered real policies, and refused to back down when attacked. He showed that when you stand for something, people notice. It will be exciting to see how he builds his coalition in the next few months and fends off attacks from both democrats and republicans.
If we keep operating from the same old risk-averse playbook & triangulating ourselves to appeal to everyone, we’re going to keep getting the same old results and ultimately appeal to no one.
It is not working for Democrats to run candidates who present as Republican-like. Voters see two Republicans running. They decide that if they are faced with two Republicans, they might as well vote for the real Republican. At least they know what that candidate stands for. With the Democrat in Republican clothing, they are not sure what that candidate will do when in office. People don't like it when people pretend to be something, even if that pretense is harmless.
The other thing is, the party is not picking up on the fact that voters are suffering economically and psychically. People do not like being made a part of the Trump administration's abuse of minorities. It wounds our souls to see and not be able to prevent these atrocities. But, bland candidates don't ever address this stuff. We must run candidates that actually address what is going on, which Mamdani did.
On page 35 of your book. One thing is for sure: generational new leadership is on the move. As an ex Brooklynite I'm pleased to learn you living there now. Perhaps he'll distill some of his views as we ferment some of ours.

Excellent read from Amanda Litman @runforsomething.net
Let's start with I'm far far far from a Cuomo guy.
However, make it make sense. Mamdani ran as the working class guy.
He was elected by the elites. The working class did NOT vote for him, at all.
Listen to the poor and working class! Respect who they voted for!
Mamdani was elected by the elites!
Never mind what the poor think! 😎

Well explained to those who are willing to listen
